I want to welcome all four of you and thank you for taking time to answer a few questions.
Writing a book is hard enough for one writer so how did all four of you come up
with the idea for Blue Moon Magic?
DEBI: Blue Moon Magic is based on the “legend”
of a beast which has been reported to live in the Kettle Moraine Forest in Jefferson County here in Wisconsin. Shari, Honey and I had been tossing around the idea of doing another book together and I came up with “what
if” on a werewolf story. When the first three stories were about completed,
I asked Lynn if she would mind taking a look at them and she agreed to do just that.
Well, she loved the stories so much that she wanted in, came up with Connor and the rest is history and in print.
Shari Dare – Debi Wilder came up with the idea and we all ran with it.
Honey: Debi Wilder came up with the idea. We each added our own flavor and ideas making for a fantastic series.
LYNN: I was the late coming actually. Debi, Honey and Shari had already come up with
the idea from something Debi had developed. Debi sent it to me for a critique and I pouted that I wanted to join them in their
world. We’d talked about it and decided that I should probably join them in a later series. But Connor wouldn’t
be denied and that night, playing the ‘what if’ game with what they had already come up with, I threw them a curve.
Was it hard to coordinate your characters and settings, making sure each book flowed
smoothly?
DEBI: I don’t think so. We’re all good friends and work well together. Once
the first book, By the Blue Moon, was completed it was just a matter of keeping some of the essential fact straight. It was easier than some might think.
Shari Dare – I didn’t
think so, but then my character knew exactly what was going on with her sisters, when they didn’t. She could be objective
about them, but not about herself.
Honey: The mythology surrounding Blue Moon Magic evolved
as we wrote the series. But we worked well with each other and managed to make
our stories flow smoothly together.
LYNN:
Yes and no. We talked about what we had to do to incorporate Connor since he was totally unheard of before I came into the
picture. There were some changes that Debi, Honey and Shari had to do to make sure that the idea of a first wife would fit
in smoothly with what they had already done. I didn’t want them to rewrite their whole stories just to accommodate mine.
Before we move on, can each of you give a synopsis/blurb on your books, and where
our readers can purchase them?
DEBI: In By the Blue Moon, Chastity, Charity and
Clarity are sisters, born 9 months apart, they are reaching their transformation age but have no idea that the family are
wolfens (half beast half man) (well kept secret, kinda like Teen Wolf). Justin Matthews has been promised Chastity from birth.
It is his birth right as the eldest “prince” of the wolfen clan. All
four books can be purchased at www.loose-id.com in ebook formats. We’re all hoping to see the series in print soon.
Shari Dare – The third
of the Blue Moon Princesses, my character, Clarity, is completely human and thinks that she’s immune to the blue moon
nonsense. She couldn’t be more wrong. When she meets another third child, she realizes she has found the one man she
can relate to. Even though she never thought she’d setter for only one man in her life, Tom is different. Before they
can make further plans, Clarity is kidnapped by the Betas and taken back in time. She can only pray that Tom will be able
to connect with her psychically and come to her rescue before it’s too late.
Honey: Charity Langford has a secret passion. The middle daughter
of Charles Langford, leader of the Elite Clan, has no idea that she’s a werewolf.
Coming into heat is causing a reckless need for sex that haunts her day and night.
She figures her hormones are all screwed up being a 34-year-old virgin. As
IT director at Langford and Langford, she has an image to uphold so she can’t give in to temptation. Things heat up when after hacking attacks and threats, her father hires hunky PI Lucas Kendal to look after
her. Kendal exudes a rugged kind of do me sexuality that makes her crazy. Luckily, she finds an online adult site to help her get off her rocks. Heated sessions with her cyber Laird are keeping her sane.
Lucas Kendal, an Alpha half-breed,
is a wolf without a pack. After being rescued from Beta captivity by the Elite,
he fulfils a promise to come back and be Charity’s mate. He knows that
her father only allows this because she’s in danger from the Betas. Having
missed his chance to capture Chastity last year, Lucas knew that Rowan Angus would do anything to get his hands on this Charity
and turn Wolfen society upside down. The pheromones she gives off are a temptation
for every rogue wolf in the area hoping to bed and wed a princess. He’s
a Lobo, a strong hand to protect her and teach her about sex and who she is. He
knows he’s being used, but he doesn’t mind. She won’t bind
with him when she finds out the truth, but teaching her passion will be sweet.
LYNN: Blue Moon Magic
One
father.
Two
mothers.
Four
siblings.
One
incredible story about that special night which changes them all. Forever.
Blue
Moon Magic 4: Night of the Blue Moon
All his life he felt he hadn’t belonged but it wasn’t
until Clarity Langford appeared did he know the truth of it. Once revealed there was no going back for Connor Angus only forward.
Still he had to find his way among the Elite he had been trained to fight when he discovered he is the long thought dead son
of Elite leader, Charles Langford. And with that knowledge comes a family full of sisters, mystery and longing for things
he’s not sure he has any right to obtain.
Cordelia Sinclair has been on the inside for more years than
she can remember, keeping secrets better than any body. But at forty-two, she sometimes felt like a dried up old prune when
it came to love. Her mate had died in a Beta raid and even though the Langfords had encouraged her to find another, she hadn’t
found anyone who could measure up.
Their physical attraction was instant but it may take years
for their minds to catch up to what their bodies already know. Cordy just can’t believe this arrogant wolf can be the
son of someone as kind and giving as Charles Langford could be. Never mind he had been brought up by Charles’ archenemy
Rowan Angus of the more animalistic Beta Clan. And she was just the person to knock that arrogance out of him with her Elite
special training.
Connor knew he wanted to bed her from the moment he saw her.
A casual bedding among the Elite wasn’t the norm. But there were complications. She had a child and he knew she thought
him arrogant and unkempt. He was going to have to teach her it took more than what met the eye to have an Elite pedigree.
Now, I promise not to kiss and tell but were there
any ‘high’s’ and ‘low’s’ you encountered while writing this anthology?
DEBI: Finding that one special publisher who recognized
the magic in these stories that we all did.
Shari Dare
– My biggest problem or my low was when we first started and I didn’t know if I could write about werewolves.
Of course we settled that by making my character human. As for a high, it came when Lynn joined us and brought Connor into the mix. He was
so much fun to play with when Clarity was in the Beta’s den and he was intercepting the telepathic communications she
was sending to Tom.
Honey: The highs were when all the pieces of the series
were clicking into place and the stories were building upon each other. There
really weren’t any lows.
LYNN:
As far as writing the anthology, no. It was really fun. The low’s came after. I had been the one to really push this
as I thought it was NYC quality and went out shopping for an agent. We got one but in the year she represented it, she couldn’t
find anyone in NYC who had the same passion for it. That was really a low point because the representation depended upon that
sale. BUT it taught all of us that we have what it takes to get an agent and have them represent us even though that first
agent is now out of the picture. At that point, we knew we really wanted to see this somewhere, so I pitched it to a couple
of publishers at a conference and we were invited to send it to everywhere we pitched it.
Do you see all four gathering once again
to write another steamy series?
DEBI: Oh yes! We’ve
been considering ideas for about 6 months now, but have come up with something solid.
And we’ve each got our own individual deadlines for other projects to consider as well.
Shari Dare – Most definitely.
Debi is already throwing out ideas as are Honey and Lynn. As for me, I’m game for anything. So we’ll see what progresses from this point on.
Honey: I sure do.
We’re already planning our next series.
LYNN:
Absolutely. There are a few ideas on the table right now. And were looking at a lot of things like whether we really want
to have something as entwined as siblings again. It’s unlikely that we’ll come up with something that fits our
writing that well again. So we’re looking at themed ideas. But you can definitely expect us to do something like this
again. We plan to celebrate a little at the upcoming EPICon and I hope have an hour or two to plan our next adventure.
Moving away from Blue Moon Magic for a second, I’d like to find out what other books
each of you have written?
DEBI: As Debi Wilder, there’s S.P.A.R. which was the Torrid Sizzler Of The Month Award and eCataRomance
Best Erotic Romance Book Of The Year (2005): S.P.A.R.–Sperm Pollination Alternative Resources–is a government
facility organized by the World Law as a way to control the population and species. Reola Clark is a sperm collection technician
who is a product of a pollination between a spermdroid and a uterdroid, or so she thinks. When a mysterious key shows up in
one of her collection trays she can’t help but wonder what "PG 101" means. She enlists the help of childhood friend,
Stu Whitager to find the answers. Answers that will change her life and the way she views pollination;
ETERNAL PLEASURES is due for re-release next
year by Red Rose Publishing: Cassandra Jameson and her best friend, Paige Matteson, have opened a store in an ancient part
of town called Eternal Pleasures. Cassandra is obsessed with pleasuring herself as no man has ever been able to accomplish,
and finds herself an old, tattered book of erotic Victorian tales. She becomes obsessed with a male character which appears in each of the stories she reads and begins to fantasize about him.
Garrett Alexander lived his life performing the teachings of pleasures of the body hundreds of years before. His shop Eternal Pleasures was located in the very same spot that the new Eternal Pleasures has now opened.
Having heard the siren call of CJ, Garrett finds he cannot resist the burning desire to pleasure her as no mortal man has
ever done before.
Writing
as Debbie Fritter there’s 1) THE PERFECT MATCH: Khristen thought she had landed a plum assignment. Shadoe thought he'd
best omit part of the truth. Will he win the biggest fight of his life and keep her love?; A LEGACY THROUGH TIME: Legacy Through
Time is a story portraying such a love so strong that it carried through the Kinsman family from the mid-1860s through generations
leading to modern times. A Legacy Through Time takes Emma through three early battles of the American Civil War up to one
of the bloodiest days in American history when Royal rescues her at Antietam.; EMERALD (Tales from the Treasure Trove 1, a
Jewels of the Quill Anthology): Emerald Braun won't settle for the Knight in Shining Armor and white picket fence. As a young
songwriter, she wants to have a hit song. The only way to get her lyrics out there is to pick up and move to Nashville where more than music
will soar in her heart during a recording contract competition. Utah Sheridan has lived in the shadow of his famous father
for most of his life. When he enters the Rising Star competition little does he know that there is a treasure he never expected
to find again; and JOUST IN TIME (coming in February): Sir Reynold, a/k/a Black Knight, is an English Knight during the 15th
Century and Queen Isabel, who has been pressuring him for physical pleasure which he has declined numerous times, puts him
into an impossible situation during a joust. Courtney Parker a seamstress at
a 21st Century Renaissance Faire attending a fallen fellow re-enactor who seems familiar, yet isn’t. The dark side of magic is about to spill it’s veil over Courtney and her Black
Knight.
Shari Dare – My books include,
His Slave, The Pirate’s Lady, Seducing Sir Gwain and Black Conley.
Honey: I’ve written several books for Whiskey Creek Press; The Gift, The Commanders
Club, April Love, A Wolf’s Tale, Monica’s Manhunt, and Cindy Revisited.
LYNN: Tons. I just
finished the third book in my Santa’s Elves Series for eXtasy Books. It’s slated to come out on December 15th,
2007 and I can’t wait. I have a couple of ongoing series there that I hope to continue in the coming year. So far I
have had seven books published with them and have quite a few more contracted. I also plan to pitch another idea to Loose
Id and try to get an agent this year. I have a book, which some of my readers have seen in my newsletter, which I think may
be what I’m calling my ‘breakout book’. At least, if any book can be called this it would be the book tentatively
titled ‘Where’s My Underwear Anyway?’ which is a story told in first person from both heroine and hero.
The reason why this one is different is that it has a totally new type of POV as I really get into the male psyche. But we’ll
see.
Can’t believe we’re at the end. Ladies, I want to thank you once again for visiting
us. Do you have any final words for our readers?
DEBI: I’d love to hear from you. You
can send me an email through my websites www.debbiefritter.net and/or www.debiwilder.com. And while you’re there, sign up for my monthly newsletter.
Shari Dare – Considering
we had waaaaaaaay too much fun writing this series, I hope our readers have as much fun reading it.
Honey: I’d just like to add that it’s been a blast writing the Blue Moon Magic
series with my fellow authors. I’m thrilled that they’ve been so
well received by our readers.
LYNN: I sure hope
they all come by and see us. All four of us enjoy writing and entertaining the reader. We love to get feedback and are planning
many more entertaining stories in the upcoming year. Readers can look for great things from us in 2008.
